In October, 2005, Bill Twyman and I, as representatives of Trinity Learning Community, traveled to New Brunswick, Canada, in the hopes of establishing a relationship with
St. Stephen's University. SSU is a small, community-oriented university that shares our values and culture. As a university offering both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Ministry degrees, we had hoped that the pastoral training school we were starting could partner with them in some way. When we left, we had found more than just a friendship. St. Steven's University agreed to associate their Canadian degrees with our program!
That same week, Derek Morphew, the founder of
Vineyard Bible Institute, was present from South Africa. He too wanted to provide his courses to SSU for undergraduate credit. We were amazed. Two diverse programs, from different parts of the world, converged on a little town in Canada.
Connecting the dots, a network has been created that has the capability of offering the equivalent of the second half of a B.A. degree, and a full M.Min. degree, through extension campuses. Only God could have done this.
